Aha! Coming soon!!

So where have I been??

Well I've been to a few places but regarding woolvettbros.com I have been very very busy... well I say that, it's not been my sole purpose in life but I have been working on it despite the fact it doesn't look like it. What I mean is behind the scenes I have been re-designing the look of the site and very very soon the new look Woolvett Bros site will appear. I have evaluated the site as it currently is, identified areas that needed more work or more content and hopefully the new improved site will be even better and packed full of Woolvett-y info and fun :)

A near disaster...

so, last week I lost everything. Least that's what I'm saying, even though I still have my health, a small portion of my sanity, my job, my car, some donuts, and a whole host of other things others would probably have thrown out by now. What I mean by I lost everything is that my hard drive of my faithful laptop did a wobbly and completely destroyed itself.

I did lose this site, and spent a large part of the weekend downloading it from the server to at least recover the core part, but unfortunately it did mean I lost a lot of prep work I'd been doing for future updates, and all the general site files like the artwork/creative I use to style the site. But fear not, I refuse to let it get me down (won't stop me mentioning it for sympathy votes however) and I will carry on... so don't be surprised if in the coming months this site suddenly is given a whole new image and overhaul, mainly because I really don't want to waste time recreating what I have in image files, when I could better use my time being more creative in doing something new!! (I was thinking about it anyhoos... so maybe my hard drive has done me a favour!)

Wow... this is one of the longest posts I think I have written, but I have made some minor updates - Jaimz Woolvett's imdb has suddenly sprung a new film on us, 'The Veteran' which states its due for release this year and don't forget for all of you in Canada, look out for 'Everything's Gone Green' which is released there on Friday (29th Sept).

Thanks for stopping by!

Woolvettbros Updates!

been busy....

New Page added to the Fanzone - Look-a-likes!
You know when you've watched too many Woolvett movies when you start seeing double, a fun page that will highlight moments where it seems you've seen something before... Look-a-likes

New GMW magazine interviews added
Cult Times Special #32 - November 2004 - Rash Gordon (Andromeda)
Dreamwatch Interview - January 1998 - Still Waters (Deepwater Black)
and a new online interview link to the November 2000 interview - Andromeda's Mr Fix-it
Woolvettbros.com is now an official partner with the German GMW fan club - The Harper Front and has joined forces in the bid to get the German con organisers to invite Gordon over for a fan convention! Sign the petition and help our cause!
I still have a load of magazine interviews to add, plus a new section to the fanzone that I'm currently working on, as well as more films to screen grab for the credit sections!
This site is far from finished ;)

small small world...

so this week has been weird... watching Superman: The Movie, I was reminded of an old classmate who was on my media/film studies course back in 1991-1993, as his dad worked on the Superman film. It was also on this same course where one of the film studies assignments was to watch Unforgiven, and thus my Woolvett fandom began.

So I did a quick search on the dad's name and discover this guy's dad went on to become Andromeda's Line Producer!! I never realised, all the time I saw this guys name in the end credits, I just never made the connection... doh!

I lost touch with the guy after leaving college so wouldn't have made any difference but its still weird... oh and that guy who was in my class is now a directing assistant on the new harry pothead movie.

DON'T forget the Online chat with Gordon Woolvett and Seth Howard tomorrow (july 1st) at 2pm PST, organised by Roddenberry.com

Thanks to Magoghair for providing the first contribution to the 'Your Shout!' area of the site, more like that would be gratefully recieved from all and sundry :) I also got around to adding ElGato's photos to the convention page (finally) hehe so thats looking a bit better now.

Chatted out...

A very hectic weekend had me first visiting London Expo at the crack of dawn (ok...10am) to see Nicole Deboer and Robert Duncan McNeill, amongst others. The first to finally get a Deepwater Black item signed that I kinda forgot to get signed the last time I met her (mainly due to getting far too comfy in the bar...) and the second because although I've seen him a cons before, I've never had a chance to get his auto - now all I need is Janeway to complete my Voyager auto collection... strange thing is, I hardly ever watched the show... go figure... cos I don't get it either hehe

Then it was the main event, the web chat with Jaimz Woolvett that went well and much fun was had - and what better way to spend your time at 5am on a Sunday morning. I'd like to thank Jaimz publicly for given up some of his free time to agree to chat with a core group of nutters! The transcript will hopefully be available soon for all to read. During the hour and a half or so of time he spent with us we rallied for more dog co-stars, discovered we're all drips and then for a bit of a laugh we unlocked the secrets of the universe... not bad really :)

Fans are brill...

This Saturday (27th May 2006) Jaimz Woolvett will be attending a special web chat, organised by Woolvettbros.com - if you are interested in attending please email me and I will send you all the details you need to be invited.

So a couple of days ago there was uproar, and much screaming being had... you would have thought the end was nigh, but in fact the reason was much more serious than that... Gordon had cut his hair, least thats what the new pic at his IMDB entry suggests. Debates and much sobbing ensued, its great to be fan girls sometimes hehe

There are some server problems currently being experienced at Gordon's message board, to add more woes to his fans, but hopefully its nothing serious and the board always seems to come back a short time later - try not to panic!!

Busy busy...

Yups, forgot to mention I'd added a couple of magazine interviews with Gordon to the fanzone last week, hope to add a few more soon! I still need more contributions so email me with anything, reviews, essays, photos, your shopping list... maybe not that last one...

Oh and if you haven't already, check out Gordon's IMDB piccy recently posted to his page.

Coming soon...

Well, finally added the Charmed caps so thats the credits page for Jaimz pretty much up to date now!

This weekend I'll be working on adding some magazine interviews and stuff to the fan zone, so look out for that. I just spent three wonderful geek filled days at Internet World, an exhibition in London where loads of geeks like me hung out and discussed the latest webby stuff. Much fun and freebies were had, and my head is full of webby stuff now... need to download (man, I hate it when I make 'geek' references...

more additions

uploaded some more Jaimz caps to the credits page, so pretty much up to date on that now - cept I just realised I haven't added the Charmed guest appearence yet... doh! hehe.

Had the most terrifying experience of my life the other day... a professional photo shoot. Very very scary stuff and I hope I never have to go through that again, however the results were worth it and I think I may recover with time - but never want to do that again hehe!

Updates!

Many thanks to Hannah (the writer) for sending me a transcript of an Andromeda DVD interview with GMW - you can find it online here GMW Interview Drom DVD (UK) C4 I have also added a number of links to the links section in the fanzone, as well as tidied up a few loose ends.

And here is a picture of my dog in a token gesture of maintaining that sad dog owner tradition of finding any excuse to post a picture of your favourite mutt online - his name is Rossi and he loves to chew, sleep and walk :)

Tinkering...

No matter how many times I tell myself its done, there's always something else that I see could be done, improved or bettered, that's what I'm finding with this site - which is a good thing I guess, because otherwise it would be a boring exercise.

After many months of asking I finally got Flash and Dreamweaver installed on my works computer, now if only those programs could find themselves on my own computer... unfortunately the IT Dept are not open to bribes!

Thanks for all the positive feedback for the site recieved so far in various forms and places, all appreciated!!

New captures

Added caps to Jaimz's credits page for Rock My World and The Assistant. Only just got a copy of the Assistant (long story... been waiting a while for it!) and its a cool movie, the actual story is of a reluctant store robber who then befriends the shopkeeper they robbed, and has to keep the fact he helped to rob the store - along the way falling for the shop keeps daughter... Jaimz plays the bad guy who keeps turning up to ensure this guy doesn't get a break!

Was at Collectormania 9 today, a signing fair and got to meet two other actors I used to be mad about before they both dropped off the face of the Earth - Corey Haim and Corey Feldman, both lovely chaps and it was really cool to finally meet them. Though if I could go back and tell me teenage self that in fourteen years time I would be in Milton Keynes shopping center, UK and would nearly bump into Corey Haim coming out of Boots the chemist - I don't think anything on this Earth would have made me believe it! :)
I also met Alan Tudyk, Wash from Firefly/Serenity, very nice guy except he tried to nick my Harper Bear!

Site fully uploaded (finally!)

After many tweaks and whatnots... the site has been uploaded in its current entirity. No doubt I will add more as time goes by, I still need to hunt down some more fanzone stuff to fill that up a bit.

Was watching the audio commentary to the film Rites of Passage (starring jaimz) and caught this nice soundbite from the writer and director Victor Salva “Woolvett came from Unforgiven and Dead Presidents and he has gotta be one of the most enthusiastic actors I’ve ever worked with, and so devoted to the moment making sure the moment is true.” He said a few other cool things, so I'm going to try and figure out the best way to put comments like these on the site (probably in the fanzone) at some point.

ready for launch :)
